Anne Frank was a willful young lady with dreams that surpassed the life WWII afforded her. The Diary of a Young Girl was such a great read. Reading her words made the war feel all the more real to someone so far from the action.
Her diary was an amazing account of the years Anne and her family spent in the secret annex hiding during WW II and the prosecution of the Jewish people. Anne was spunky and kind and passionate. She went through puberty and disliking her parents, just like every other teenager, but her daily struggle to remain hidden was one unlike anything the youth of today have had to experience.
I felt like I lost a friend upon completion of her diary. She was a truly gifted writer and an incredibly deep thinker. I urge the readers out there to check out this novel. You will not be disappointed.
