Scott Pilgrim V.2: A Review

vol2Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Vol. 2 is the next installment of Bryan Lee O’Malley‘s superb comic series. If you’d like to see my review of Vol. 1, check it out here.

I wish I could explain in a more eloquent way precisely why I enjoy Scott’s adventures… maybe it’s because it’s reminiscent of video games and superhero comics. This volume delves into Scott’s past a bit [relationship focused, naturally] and fast-forwards to find Scott dating two ladies at once: Knives & Ramona. Knives and Ramona have a face off, where Ramona pretty much kicks Knives’ crazy little bum.

Ramona’s ex-boyfriend Lucas is now a professional skater/actor and Scott is unnerved at the prospect of defeating Lucas. Our hero, Scott, wins, of course… and in the end finds himself faced with another of his own exes, Envy Adams.

It doesn’t sound like much, but these graphic novels are really punk rock! =) They’re mostly just silly and fun. I’m enjoying them!
